Use the New Forest Centre for meetings and events
The New Forest Centre has facilities available for day and evening hire by prior arrangement.
There are 2 purpose-built classrooms on the first floor which is served by a lift. Easily accessible disabled toilets can be found on both the ground and first floors, as well as an additional ladies toilet on the ground floor. A table-top hot drinks machine can also be supplied and a kitchenette on the first floor is available.
Included in the cost of hire, if needed, is the use of a projector screen and double-level stand, an overhead projector and a flip chart.
Additional equipment such as a TV/video or digital projector and laptop can be hired at a small extra charge. Hirers are welcome to bring their own equipment but must ensure it is safe to use. A current PAT test certificate must be presented for all appliances.
For larger events and functions please contact the Centre to discuss the possible availability of the ground floor New Forest Gallery or even the entire Museum area.
Please contact the New Forest Centre Office to check room availability before completing a Room Hire Booking Form. The completed form can be returned by email, fax or post in order to secure the booking.
Refreshments for Room Hire
The New Forest Centre does not have the facilities or staffing levels to provide a full refreshments service for room hire groups.
We can, instead, supply you with a hot drinks machine and packs of wrapped biscuits suitable for mid-morning and afternoon breaks. This extra is charged at £2 per person per half day.
You will need to make your own arrangements if you require a catered lunch to be delivered to the premises and, on request, we can advise on companies that have experience in doing this.
Jack Hargreaves Seminar Room
This first floor room is ideal for small to medium-sized meetings and lectures. The room is carpeted, has black-out blinds and seating for up to 30 people in lecture style or approximately 18-20 people, boardroom style.
Barker-Mill Field Studies Room
This first floor room is of a similar size with black-out blinds, a work bench, sink with hot and cold taps and a wipeable floor. Ideal as a base for Forest forays.
