Putting the Muse into Museums and Schools Showcase Exhibition 21 June to 13 July 2008

Poetry inspired by the collections of Beaulieu Motor Museum, St Barbe Museum, Lymington and New Forest Centre, Lyndhurst as well as displays of some truly imaginative artwork by local students.

Testwood Arts 19 July to 10 August

A chance to see the work of this group of talented artists who have built up a reputation for fine work and exciting interpretation.

Photographing the Forest and Beyond 16 August to 7 September

Exquisite wildlife and natural history photography by members of the Southampton Cameral Club.

Jill Fry 13 September to 5 October

Jill's work in innovative and inspirational. Using a variety of medium, Jill builds up an impression of her environment that makes you stop and take stock.

Fabulous Fungus 11 October to 16 November

A fabulous opportunity to see these exquisite models of a vast variety of fungus. The exhibition is accompanied by a schools exhibition and continues throughout the Centre.

Trees Please! 22 November to 31 December

Orla Brady made her mark on the Forest last year with a stunning exhibiton of collected artifacts and ephemera. Recently voted best newcomer with the prestigious 'Coastal Creatives' group of artists, Orla is back with an exhibition based on forest trees. Her grahic style, eye for detail and artistic flair have made her a talent to watch.

DISCOVER YOUR NATIONAL PARK  Thursday 7 August (as part of NATIONAL PARKS WEEK)  A drop-in day of walks and activities in and around the New Forest Centre for the whole family.  To include the following bookable walks:

Guided Walk Around Lyndhurst Village - 14.00h and 15.30h - with Georgina Babey

Guided Visit to the historic Verderers' Court and Queen's House - 11.00h and 14.00h - with Caroline Stride

Guided Walk On The Open Forest - 11.00h and 15.30h - with Jim Mitchell and Amanda Elmes

FREE entry to Museum, small charge for materials on some activities. We regret no unaccompanied children.

 

SUMMER HOLIDAYS 2008  Gallery Activity Days on every Tuesday and Thursday throughout August 10am to 4pm  Drop-in Family Friendly activities on the theme of Nature Detectives (Tuesdays) and History Detectives (Thursdays). Standard entry charges for adults, small charge for activity materials. We regret no unaccompanied children.

BIG DRAW Tuesday 28 October  Join us and get drawing for this year's Big Draw bonanza.  Drop-in, standard entry charges, small charge for materials.
